Rangers player/coach Jermaine Defoe has lauded new Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe as a tactician who pays attention to details. Jermaine Defoe made this known in an interview with Sky Sports as revealed that the attention to detail in training on the part of Howe is unbelievable.
Howe worked wonders during his time as the Cherries manager as he guided them from the brink of going bust in the lower leagues of English football to the Premier League. He would later suffer relegation from the Premier League after keeping the club in the division for several years.
Newcastle United fans would be hoping that Howe can work his magic at the club as they continue to battle the relegation zone. The Magpies are in the bottom three on the Premier League log at the moment and the new owners have drafted Howe in so that he can steer them away from the relegation zone. Newcastle United have ten points from eighteen (18) league games this season and they are three points off safety as things stand. The Magpies have a solitary win all season and that will have to improve on that appalling win ratio if they want to survive demotion from the Premier League.
While speaking further on Howe, Defoe said that he’s a forward-thinking coach and that he does a lot of work with players on the training pitch. The Rangers disclosed that Howe is always looking to improve his players.
Newcastle United fans are hoping that the new owners can get some quality players in through the St. James Park door to help Howe in his quest to keep them in the Premier League.
