Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has stated that Jermain Defoe is an important member of the team and that he will be counting on him a lot this season. He said that this is why he has not allowed the player to leave on loan.

He said he is currently short up front and that if ever he has some injuries he will have to count on Jermain Defoe and believes that the former England international will be a wonderful asset to have in the team.
